Horse and Voice – Physiotherapeutic riding to support the treatment of functional voice disorders
Lisa Schütt
Posture, body tension and self-perception (proprioception) are not only part of the physiotherapeutic work with the horse (hippotherapy), they also have an influence on the vocalization and a fundamental importance for the treatment of functional voice disorders. In addition, vocal therapy as well as hippotherapy work on the personal or emotional level so that parallels can also be found there. It should be noted that the exercises should only be guided by therapists who have been trained in voice therapy and that not every client is suitable for every horse.
