Summary This article summarizes the findings of an exploratory process research that examines the generic principles for the horse-assisted coaching setting. The empirical survey includes 6 case studies on coaching processes, each from the coach’s and coachee’s perspective using a mixed-methods design. From this, the triadic action model and the process model of horse-assisted coaching are derived, which offer both science and practice starting points for further investigation and practical implementation. Summary In the following evaluation study, the research question was investigated to what extent participation in a horse-assisted project influences the social and learning behaviour of pupils in a regular school. Methodologically, the study is based on a quantitative pre-post survey using a student assessment list for social and learning behavior (Petermann / Petermann 2014). The intervention group (n=11) that participated in the horse-assisted project was compared with a control group (n=11) that attended school regularly at the same time. The results show positive trends due to increased mean values of the scales on social and learning behaviour at the second measurement time.
